    protective gear

    by Halen » Tue Jan 30, 2007 12:29 pm

I was wondering if any of you that wear full body armour would be kind enough to offer up your opinions on a few sets of gear? I currently ride heavily wooded single track with a FOX mid jacket (some elbow and spine pads) gloves, boots, and a helmut.
What do you wear? where do you ride?
    thanks... Van

I use the EVS BJ22 Ballistic Jacket. Seems like it offers good protection. Little constrictive, but you get used to it.

Any suggestion to someone that has a nice riding jacket all ready. Is there something that will fit under or over top that won't be to restrictive?

I use the Rock Gard'n Flak Jacket as well. I love that thing. Not restrictive at all. Great spine priotection and as Ken said, removeable forearm and elbow pads. You can take the spine protector off as well, but what's the point?

It vents very well because of the open mesh construction.

That looks like something a Cardasian would wear. I have a FOX 360 jacket and was more or less wondering if there was any 'bolt on' armour available.
Oh well... how many of us actually land on our backs in a crash anyways.
