    TRX125 carb help

    by Drew » Thu Nov 01, 2007 11:40 am

Guy's, I've rebuilt the carb on an 85 TRX125 because the needle would no longer stop incoming fuel and it's still doing it. I cleaned the seat in the casting really well and it looks like it should seal off but it won't. Any suggestions? Thanks

Did you change the needle and seat? If that has been changed, I would also check the float level as well. A good ball park would be a level float to the body if it is a standard type needle.

Yes, I put a new float and needle, but I didn't get a new seat. It seats in the casting. And, I put a new throttle needle in it at the same clip position that it was at (third groove). Any ideas?

Make sure your float level is correct, the carb can flood if the float level is too high. You may also have problem with the cast in style seat, it may be marked up or have scratches in it or just plain worn....if thats the case, you will more than likely need another carb.
