    Shifter Question

    by RedneckDriver » Mon Jun 18, 2007 12:20 pm

ok, my papaw has an 02 honda 350 rancher ES, and got it for the floorboards and digital screen, but doesn't like the Electric Shift. I was wondering, since it's connected straight to the footshift (just without a lever), could you get a lever for a standard 02 rancher, and put it on the ES model?

Okay, i'm pretty sure u can put a lever for a standard rancher on the older ES models, but would u have to bypass the electric shift buttons?

While I don't know about that particular year or model, my wife's new '07 Recon came with a lever that slips onto a shaft so that it can be shifted manually in case the electric shift were to fail out on the trail somehwere. If I recall correctly, the lever is located on the bottom of the seat (I'd have to look for it though). And I believe that the shaft is pretty far rear on the left side of the engine.
