    05 250r trans drain bolt

    by Bryangb7 » Mon Jul 06, 2020 3:21 pm

Hello all, hopefully someone out there can help me. So I made the mistake of following Honda’s torque specs and ended up snapping the trans drain bolt. That being said I can’t seem to find it to get a new one. Does anyone have the part numbers for a new bolt and crush washer. I’ve called around and no one seems to give me the right number. Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the site !! \:D/

If you look at the parts fiche , you will see off to the right side a shape of the case and bolt holes with numbers , if I am reading it correctly it is part # 12 (sealing washer)and #34(bolt) ..... https://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.co ... 0CRANKCASE

As far as tightening , on engine bolts I always just "snug" them to what I feel safe with , I have always felt with all the oil on the bolt and in the threads , it gives a false torque reading , same goes with the long bolt for the oil filter , I just "snug" it to what I feel is tight enough ..... :-~ , Only one's I actually torque is the head bolts , engine mounts , etc , but not case bolts ..... 8-[

Thank you for the quick reply I appreciate the help. I found other diagrams but couldn’t make out which bolt went where. Fingers cross I get the old one out and things go smoothly.

Well good news! I took it to a local shop and he was able to get the bolt out without splitting the cases. Threads weren’t buggered either put new bolt in filled with fluids and she lives on once again. Thanks again for all the input and help

Not sure exactly I assume he did that. He was nice enough to let me cut in line of all his other builds. I dropped it off and he called the next day said he got it out. He said he was going to try to extract without having to split to save on labor and I’m super stoked he didn’t have to.
