    2013 Won't Tickover

    Hi,

Wondering if anyone can help. Last ride out the bike was spot on. On Monday I entered an enduro and DNF'd in the first 1000 yards!!!

The bike warmed up on high idle and I then dropped it to normal tick over and everything was normal on the line. I revved it up and made left it sat on normal tickover and there was no evidence of a problem.

Got the flag and it kicked up first kick and set off fine.

About 500 yards later whilst riding along a forest track in 2nd gear it did a "cough stall" which I thought was odd but maybe it just wasn't warm enough yet. Still very odd as I'm running a rekluse in it. I wasn't on an obstacle just a forest track.

Started back up and this happened 3 more times in the next 500 yards until I could not get it to start at all.

I have since swapped the tank to see if it was the fuel pump but that made no difference.

It still starts and runs on high idle but cuts out as soon as you put it back on normal tick over. I have tried adjusting the idle speed and it makes no difference.

Can anyone suggest what to check next? I'm worried that it gets expensive swapping FI parts!!

If its not the pump or filter , then it could be you got water in the fuel , otherwise , i would start looking at electrical issues

I think we have singled it out to the Map sensor!

Just going to pinch one off a mates bike to swap over and check.

Well this one has me beat.

I have now changed every item on the throttle body, then the injector which I bought new which still didn't solve it.

Next I bought a throttle body which cost a fortune. That didn't fix it.

I have no idea what to do next.

You said you singled out the Map Sensor ,what else did you physically test (i know you swapped out the tank , so that eliminates the Fuel Pump) , so next in line is the CDI or Coil breaking down when they heat up , i think your on the right track that it is a Electrical issue , what about the Kill/Map switch , this could also cause issues.....

The only other possibility is just a loose plug in somewhere , that when under the bouncing down the track/trail , it looses connectivity temporarily , but is not completely disconnected
