    Crf250r clutch issue

    by chris-mets » Sun Sep 14, 2014 6:52 pm

    Hey guys,

Im new to this site. I just got an 07 crf250r. Everything is perfect except the bike moves when the clutch lever is pulled in all the way. I adjusted the freeplay and still nothing. I checked the clutch basket in and out and no notches. Basically brand new condition. It use to die out when i tapped it into first at a standstill but that went away. Im not sure if the clutch cable is stretched or something. No idea how to adjust the pushrod either. Let me know what you guys think.

    Thanks
    Chris

You have to trace things back to the clutch itself. The clutch lever when pulled in disengages the pressure plate. If it's not disengaging far enough then you have to determine why. If it's disengaging far enough and there's still engagement on the plates the you may have a warped/damaged pressure plate or your plates may not be correct. You'll have to remove the plate and check for flatness and then count and measure each plate against Honda specifications.
