Difference in triple clamps & Plastics between the 250R'

Hey everyone,
I just picked up a 2004 CRF250R and have been digging into updating the plastics to the 2008 style front number plate.

From various microfiche part exploders I see that the 2008 tripple clamps use two male 'seats'-if you will, to align and hold the bottom of the number plate to the lower triple clamp.

Then, on top it looks like the triple clamp has 2 mounting screws to fasten the number plate to the top triple clamp.

I'm curious as to if anyone has tried fitting the newer plate on their older gen 250r?

Also, does anyone know if there is any difference in sweep between the older generation triple clamps and the 2008 style? It may be easier to swap triple clamps...

Thanks!

Update:
I just got off the phone with BRP and they informed me that

1) A lot of customers would commonly switch to 22mm offset for the 04-07 250r's.

2) 2008 offset is 22mm, with 04-07 being 24mm

BRP sells a STEERING STEM, BEARING & SEAL KIT 02-14 CRF 250/450 R&X, so atleast I know all the tripple clamps are indeed interchangeable.

May just be easier to fab up some mounts for the lower part of the triple clamp to mount to.
