Hey guys. I'm looking for a new bike. Fuel injection would be nice! haha but anyways are the newer crf's hard on valves like the older ones? Pro's and con's?

Since 2010 Honda have found a good mix for the valves and seat, so in 100 hours mine didn't have move. You can buy with confidence.


Pros :

FI systems, Honda system at this best, everything electrical is great an reliable, this bike will never let you down like a Suz or KTM with electrical issue. This one can also be remaped easyly with a HRC tuners if you put some mods on it

Chassis, the most easy feel chassi of all the bike, front wheel oriented geometry, this bike is really easy to handle and everyone feel confortable the first ride with it

Suspension, if you weight near 140-160 lbs, the setup is perfect with a nice stock valving, great 48 mm fork tube. Except if your a high level racers, you can ride it safe with some clickers adjustement and stock valving

Air filters : This now so easy to replace the air filter, lot of place to be sure to don't loose some dirt in the intake boot

Strong midrange power




Cons :

Weak top end power, an aftermarket exhaust, Tassinari AIR4orce and a remap can resolve this easyly

2010 have a little fuel pump filter and this one should be replace evey years, fixed in 2011

2010-11 had some crankshaft issue, the best was to replace it after 50 hours with a 2012 one or with a hotrod

2010-13 The suspension must be springned for your weight to get the best from this front wheel oriented chassis unless you can get some stability issue in some specific momment
