I was the victim of a Shim and Sell.. The exhaust valves are pretty damn close to proper clearance however my intake valves are .003+ off.. Did not scorch anything/tulip valves or anything. What is an average price for valve job as I have 3 local mechanics that I know do good work and I need help picking one so VOICE what you payed for your valve jobs Please!!

Last valve job I had done was in march i believe and the total came to about $450 - $500. I had the kibblewhite valves installed and also had the head port and polished. Bike is an 09 250r

If the bike starts easily it doesnt need a valve job. If you were in fact sold a "shim and sell " bike the day will be coming soon.o don't obsess over thousanths off. .003 off (it only gets tighter, never looser unless a human screws with it) is very unlikely a gap you can measure with any accuracy, what matters is "does it start"?
Bad valve jobs done to modern high performance thumpers is the most common case of people charging money for something thay are truly clueless about there is.
Send it to Ken and pay once for a long, long time if you keep up your air filter/air intake/oil maintenance.
Good luck. There's a place you can go to that'll have a happy ending, and you've been clued in:). Doug
