    2005 HONDA CRF250R MOTOR REBUILD

I am having to do a motor rebuild because my rod bearing went and I was wondering if anyone had a full service manual to help guide me through the job?

Welcome to CRF's Only! You are very wise to get the service manual. Anyone distributing a digital version other than Helm Inc. is doing so in copyright violation. The paper version is available in our online catalog. Worth every penny.

    Again, welcome.

Properly done, you'll be spending about $1000 in parts. Another $50 for your own service manual shouldn't be breaking the bank...

i just posted this on the x page (i just replaced all the bearings in my motor. cost was about 175 but that didn't include the crank bearings. it was a bit of a pain. things to watch out for: oil pump bearings i recommend getting the appropriate bearing puller. i used a screw driver the first one came out ok but the second exploded and i had to resorte to using a dermal.... i got lucky. there are also three bearings of the same dimension two of wich have ten balls and one has eight. the eight ball one goes above the oil pump the two ten ball ones belong in the trany. now the two ten balls are different part numbers both from honda and the bearing mfg. if someone knows the difference id be interested in knowing. if you are going to take the project on make notes of all the bolt locations case and interior i would recommend pics as well. im regretting not doing so. the manual hasnt been much help.)

i too am doin a total engine overhaul and while the manual helps a bit pictures and documenting location of parts would be my biggest recommendation.
