The first thing I would do is get your suspension set up correctly for your weight and riding style. After that ive heard that getting a full exhaust system like the FMF factory 4.1 or Pro circuit really help wake up the 2012 250r.
After that its up to you. You could go with a high compression piston and run race fuel if you have the money. Other than that a fly wheel could help you depending on how you ride and if you think you really need one. Although its a bit more expensive a rekluse would help you a great deal too.

I have a 2007 crf250r and my buddy has a 2010 crf250r and we both race em in the harescrambles. All you really need is a spark arrestor and pass 96 Db sound test. Getting your suspension done is a great idea but is expensive. What i would do is set your sag adjust your clickers and spend that money on getting yourself a skidplate some handgaurds and possibly a bigger tank. You can ride these bikes as is in the woods with little money poured into aftermarket goodies. An exhaust system would be a nice addition if your have the money. Where are you from?

I am from MD. Ride in NJ and PA Suspension is fine but the motor is too mx'y to ride in rocks and hills. That is why I was asking about fww or map.

A fly wheel weight would help you but only so much. A rekluse would be probably one of the best options.
Also mellowing out the mapping would help too, or just ride more aggressive

Thanks for the help ,I guess I was expecting someone who owns a 2012 to give me an intelligent answer. I am not a AA rider berserkin through the northeastern rock gardens, and I am sure they would need to let off the throttle and that is the problem with the honda motor.

If your really riding that tight and technical through rock gardens then try playing with gearing ratio's to tame the bottem end hit of the motor. Also as I mentioned before a flywheel weight would smooth out the power as well.
