    Broken chain guide

    by ssrider » Sun Apr 08, 2012 7:04 am

I just picked up a 2005 crf250r last week and I didn't notice until I got it home that it was missing a chain guide. One of the tabs on the swingarm is snapped off so I can't just bolt a new one on. Is there any harm in running it without it? What do you guys reccommend I do?

Get a swingarm off ebay, you really want that there. You do not want a jumped chain, then you will have big problems

Have a weldor fabricate a tab on the swingarm. Easy enough and anyone that welds will be able to do that for you. Should not be more than $20 - free if you have a friend that can weld aluminum - or for a few beers.

Be more trouble to get you a new guide than to fix the tab. :)

Like SS rider stated - don't run it without the guide. Get'r fixt.
