CRANKCASE BOLTS TORQUE

    CRANKCASE BOLTS TORQUE

    book says torque crankcase bolts to 16ft lbs mine are oiled is that correct seems like they will snap :(

    04-06 is 16 ft/lbs. After 06 is 12 ft/lbs.

    Oil the threads AND the case where the flange hits.

    Use a crisscross pattern and go in three progressive steps i.e all to 8ft/lbs, then all to 12ft/lbs then all to 16 ft/lbs.

    i have a 06 crf250r and they really felt like they were stretching at anything over 12ft lbs so i left them at that. if it has to come apart again i will put in new bolts thanks for getting back on this.
