stalling in shift help!

i just got a 04 crf 250r for cheat and every thing looks good but one thing that is a come and go problem is that when i start the bike and shift in to 1st to go the bike stalls. the tranny fluid is new and at the right level. i have mesed with the turn lever by the cluth handle but nothing stoped it yet. what can is be?
