    oil problem

    by mitchell250R » Mon Jan 01, 2007 9:11 pm

i have a crf 250r 04 model and it burns a significant amount of oil. i will check the oil before and after every ride and before i ride i have it at about halfway inbetween the dipstick lines and after im done there wont be any oil on the dipstick at all. when i measure the oil the bike is perfectly level and i also have a pro circuit t-4 slip on. there is also black exhaust on my rear fender from oil burning. can anyone help me with this problem or does anyone have the same problem?
    thanks,
    mitchell

    Sounds like bad rings.

What does your spark plug look like?

Soot. Powdery black or brown deposits.

Burning through the measurable portion of the dipstick is not "a little blowby". Do a compression test and it will tell the tale...

Most compression testers have different thread adapters. Go buy the adapter you need and it should work...
