take this opportunity to post some of my newest poetry, for your pleasure. "o my dear, how sweet it is to love, to cherish and to caress. how pleasing are the pains of lust and worship, how youthful are the motions of effection, like spring-tides, or singing birds on sunday mornings. My angel is my meditation, my medication, my cure. And while I'm overflowed with sensuous love, all else is nothing."

Thanks for the great site, first-off. Newbie here, found this site googling for CRFX armor. I've been an XR owner since '81 when I got a XR100 from Santa. Went to a CR125 in '82, Pop had a '83 XR200R, got hurt bad (MX) in the early 80's. Didn't ride for the next 16 years or so until I visited a friend with a '97 XR250. Rode it and couldn't get the smile off my face. The next weekend I was shopping for my own. Bought the '98 XR400 in November of '97 and have ridden that ever since. Last spring, a Moab obstacle (Golden Crack

to be exact), put a hurting on my XR that has since been mended only to recur (broken frame). I was thinking of buying a replacement frame when I started thinking about the time frame between getting the frame, dissassembly/reassembly, and twisting the grip on the XR (it would have been around 3 months!) when I finally broke down and bought an '06 CRF4X. I got it on Tuesday (1/10/06) and have only put 9 miles on it (to get the break in total of 15 miles) before this weekend. I am 'happy as a little girl' now. I am truely stoked to get this bad-mamma-jamma under me and see what 8 1/2 years of technology will do. Thanks for reading my babbling post. Great site, looking forward to learning a lot from everyone here.

It has been a long, long, time ago.....but yes I had one. Probably the original XR....if I remember correctly it was a '71 or '72 XR250. At that time, it was a street legal dirt bike. The only thing Honda really had then that could vagualy be called a dirtbike. I think the XR125 came out the following year. It was much better handling....had the first 21" front wheel I can remember.

    maybe it has -
    the rider?

when talking about gas mileage the guy I bought my TLR from told me that they normally go for 6 to 8 hours a day but the young boys (he was talking about younger than 40 or so) never last, then he grinned "we go up a hill and watch them struggle, push, pull, carry their huge bikes, and when they eventually make it to the top we ask what took them so long and go for the next hill, normally it only takes 2 or 3 hills to make them quit and go home"
