2005 450X inconsistent idle

bike ran perfectly last winter, went riding this past weekend and everytime I stopped the idle was high. At first I thought it was a pinched throttle cable but after confirming the cables were clear I just happened to lean the bike over and the idle came up again. If I waited several seconds the idle returned to normal. I am thinking because the bike sat for 4 months the floats maybe sticking, anyone have an idea.

Any fuel running out the overflow hoses?

Yes, but only when you lean it over

My '06 is doing the same thing when I ride. I just put the JD Jet kit in, red needle 4th position and 62main jet (because I live/ride at 4500' MSL) air box mods and pink wire complete.
I can't figure out why it idles high, then settles down after about 20 seconds. I checked the grips and lines, but nothing in the way.
Heck, this bike is only 2 weeks old and 48 miles are on it.
Otherwise it runs like a raped ape! Thanks to reading many posts on here!
Thanks for all the input from experienced CRF guys on here. This is my first thumper.

I had the same issue after putting in the JD kit, etc. I opened the fuel screw more and it helped, but when I put in a richer pilot the issue went completely away. I had the 45 and went to a 48, but I live at 600' .

irratic or hanging idle is usually a sign of a lean pilot circuit. if you can't adjust it with the pilot screw then go up one on the pilot jet and see if that doesn't help.

Kilroy, welcome to the site! Glad to have another Oregonian, even if you are only on loan!

Great idea... I'll do some tinkering with the pilot screw.
Also, thanks X-giant. Our group is planning a trip sometime soon, or after spring to Huckleberry Flats OHV area near Oakridge. Maybe some of you local boys can show us around the hills there. I understand there is some excellent single track stuff there. If that's your neck of the woods.
Thanks for the reply's.

#70 pilot jet? Wow! I'am having trouble with hanging idle with the stock pilot (45) I'm thinking about a 48. #70? really?
