    new to me bike jetting

    bought this 2005 450x. had full dr.d exhaust and stage 1 hot cam.ran alright when purchased.Now i have installed new UNI filter, opened top of air box, pink wire mod. jetting has a 170 main,jet needle on 4th pos.and dont recall the pilot size.now you try to snap the throttle off idle it falls on its face.do i need to do the ap mod?

    I would put a new, not cleaned, 45 pilot in, even if there is already one in there. They plug up way too fast.
    How is the throttle response when you ride it? You can't snap the throttle quickly on a 4 stroke like you can on a 2 stroke.

    I would eventually put a 165 main in it for sea level during the summer, but the bike will run fine with a 170, and that won't affect the low end bog that you have, only wide open throttle.

    it also fell out in 5th gear pinned. but checked again my pilot is a 45 and popped on decel. before the air box and pink wire mod.do you think the next size up pilot will be the answer? and ran best with fuel screw out 5 turns!!!

    No, a 45 pilot has been perfect for too long. You may have some crust and goo up at the top of the pilot jet or fuel screw passage that need a dental pick and carb cleaner to assassinate.

    i put a new 48 pilot in and its running great I guess my bike needs a little more fuel.my idle and air screw are working like they need to now.thanks for the help.
