Runs great but 5 turns out on pilot

2006 crf250r, carb has been dipped, all new jd jet and leak jet kit. all new orings including the mid body. New exhaust gaskets etc. I am using a flex jet pilot screw. we have a 42 pilot jet, 175 main jet and the red jd needle set at the recommended clip setting for sea level to 1000'.
the leak jet is a 45, stock was 55.valves were all replaced recently also.
Now with all that in mind,it had lean popped on decel and ran so hot the pipes melted 2 air boxes until I started running it 5 turns out. I replaced the airbox and put the 45 leak jet in. Bike runs awesome, great response no popping, pulls hard,,, just is 5 turns out. should i up the pilot?

    Yep bigger pilot would help.
Check the jetting sticky for what others here found works for them.

    Idle 45
    2 turns out
    Baffle out, Screens In

It starts,it runs,it gets to where all CRFs can get to without the valve or valve plate dramas

I would go for a 45 pilot first. that should do the trick. im about the same elevation and ride in 90 deg. avg. in the summer

definitely go up on the pilot. you should be under three turns out.
