    [Advice Wanted] CRF250R 2007 Jetting

    Heyo all,

So, I've had my bike for a couple of years now, and just recently the crankshaft gaveway due to a casting fault (carbon bubble). This also busted up the cam and a bunch of other stuff, so, while I was in there I took the time to install a Hotrods stroker crank (+1.5mm I think) and a Hot Rods Gold Series stage 2 camshaft.

Now, I'm probably fairly rather possibly certain... maybe... that the last person tinkered with the carb, because my bike has always seemed to perform much stronger than my mates, who has the same bike but a couple years back ('05 I think). Anyways, the carb has always been an ignorance is bliss kind of relationship for me. But I'm wondering if I should worry about changing the jetting of my bike to suit my cam and crank? I'm eventually going to get a yoshi exhaust, and I assume that I will have to fiddle then, but until then, I'm wondering if I should change stuff.

    Thanks,
    Pyro_

honda continued to improve the porting and cam grind on the '07. the performance difference you feel is largely a result of these improvements.

on the jetting, it's a tough question as we don't really know where you were relative to being a bit rich or a bit lean. if you were on the margin of lean you will get leaner. if you were on the margin of rich you may be fine. if the jetting was spot on you may have to go up one size in the pilot and/or main jet.
