Pilot jet and fuel screw adjustment?

    by Greif8 » Fri Mar 29, 2013 2:42 pm

Found out why it was running so poorly. There were two O rings on the fuel screw, one was mangled and the other was pristine. Cant believe it came from the factory like that. Now I am running the stock 45 pilot jet and an R&D fuel screw with the JD jet kit with the 170 jet and the Twin Air filter. The fuel screw when turned all the way in just makes the idle rough, I have to turn it out almost three turns before it starts to have an effect.

Is this normal for the range of adjustment on the fuel screw?

What bike? <Forget that, I see other post 2012 450X. 3 turns is too much. Try a larger pilot and see if adjustment moves to 2 turns out. 48 seems a little large though. Should be using 42 or 45 depending on elev. and temps in your area.
