    CRF 230 running too lean

    by jason0364 » Mon Jul 02, 2012 8:38 pm

I removed my exhaust baffle, intake restrictor, and re-jetted my carb with a 120 main, 45 pilot, and moved the needle clip to the 4th position. The exhaust was popping on decel so I moved it up to a 48 pilot. Still running too lean. Plug is whitish gray. Need help! Runs great idles great, has tons of power. Just pops once in a while when I let off throttle.

Welcome Jason to CRF's Only. Check out the 230F jetting database. You'll find many there who have had great success with our PowerUp Jet kit. You may also find someone who is using the stock needle with success at a similar altitude as you. Check it out here:

Is the clip in the 4th slot from the top or bottom?

Have you tried adjusting the fuel screw to improve idle?

Have you fixed the flooding issue?
