Pilot Jet? how to determin what size is right?

How do you determine what is the right size pilot jet?
Jetting scenario: 05 450X, has a JD jet kit and is set as per Jd's recommendations for our riding elevations 8-10,000 ft. Problem? can turn the fuel screw in all the way and there's no change in idol. fuel screw set about 1 3/4. bike runs good with just a slight bog off idol when you snap the throttle, fine when you roll into it or even a quick roll into is ok. Question, shouldn't the bike spudder or stall when you turn the fuel screw in all the way?
    Have tried a 40 & 42 pilot.

    Thanks,BGG

I don't have an answer, but would love some info on your same issue. I've been trying to adjust mine and no matter how much I turn it, nothing changes in idle speed.

remove the fuel screw and verify it is in tack and the o-ring, spring and washer are installed correctly.

Thanks Ken, yea we have pulled the fuel screw a couple times. That was our first thought that the old o ring was stuck in there. Verified with the old fuel screw and they are both intact

    Thanks, BGG

i would remove the o-ring and make sure it is intact. these are known to break and sometimes get lodged where the tip of the fuel screw goes.
