    2004 crf250r jetting

    Hello all, newbie here
    from southern califonia
I recently bought a 2004 CRF250R and i have not been able to get it to idle at all.
last night i took my carb apart and these are the jets that are in there:

    Main 172
    Pilot 40
Needle clip position 5th from top,

it also has a hot cams Stage 1 in it.

so far i have been on 4 rides with this bike and everything above 1/8 throttle is perfect! it feels great through all gears and all throttle openings above idle.
and the last time it would not start at all.

after putting the bike back together i was able to get it started with the choke on but would not stay running with choke off, and the air screw seemed to do absolutly nothing... at all... all the way in to 3 turns out... no difference to the rpm's the only way to get it to stay idling is to crank in the throttle stop to way above normal idle.

i guess my question is if its idleing somewhat ok with the choke on, does that meen i need a bigger pilot jet since the adjustment of my air screw made no differenceat all?

i am new to jetting/tuning, so any help or tips would be helpful, thanks in advance for all and any help

its been awhile since ive wrenched on my bike, but i have the same bike bone stock and from so cal. i have my jetting at
    main: 170
    pilot: 48
    needdle on 4th clip
    airscrew: 2.5 turns out
quick shot adjustable leak jet. (quick shot was a big help)
starts right up, runs great, with great response, the quick shot got rid of the bog. and i have my idle just a little high.
