    Big bore jetting?

    by CRFPitbull » Fri Jan 06, 2012 12:09 pm

Hey can anyone tell me what jets to run on my 2007 CRF450R?
I've installed a Cylinder Works 488 big bore kit and i have a powerbomb header, quickshot 2 and nothing more!

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

if your bike was well jetted prior to the big bore install you should be able to get by with either fuel screw adjustments or going one larger on the pilot. test this first and if the power falls off up top then go one larger on the main too.

    good luck!

if it is running lean then you do want to wait until you get it jetted correctly. with the larger pilot and the fuel screw set to 2 turns out test it and see how it responds. you may have to go one larger on the main as well. again, this is assuming the carb was correctly jetted prior to the big bore kit install.

use organic oil. three sessions of 15 minutes riding with and cool down periods in between. generate as much compression as you can by going up hills and down hills. when going down use engine compression braking. don't idle it for long and don't run it at the same RPM. don't hit the rev limiter. don't baby it either.

change the oil after these three cycles.
