    Backfire issues

    by rbirby » Sat Jun 04, 2011 4:18 pm

Got a small problem. Bought a 05 450x did the airbox mod, took out the baffle in the exhaust and installed the JD jet kit. Also the guy I bought the bike from went from a 70 leak jet to a 65. My problem now is it backfires on decel and quite frankly it embarasses me. Can any one please help me Im new to the fourstroke world so any help will be welcomed.

welcome to the site! do you have the emissions equipment installed? this will cause some of the decel popping you are experiencing. most of us remove it with the applied racing block off kit. it's in stock in our online store. also, you should adjust your fuel screw to 2 turns out and then adjust it from there. lastly, make sure your header and mid pipe are sealed well.
