    2006 450X Leak jet help

    by taco157 » Tue Feb 01, 2011 1:17 pm

I have a 2006 450x with an annoying hesitation/bog.... This hesitation occurs on the stand and while riding. I happened when you wack the throttle quickly, ie: wheeling. works great if you roll the throttle slower, but i want it to be snappy.

Last year i cut the sides and top out of the airbox and removed the backfire screen.

Also installed the JD Jetting kit.... (which i praise big time)
Red Needle- 4th clip from top
    165 main jet
    0-800ft elevation

I want the bog gone this year... I just ordered the JD Leak Jet kit and the Boyesen Quick Shot 3.

Am i going in the right direction????

Cancel the order for the Boysen Quickshot and order this from a Honda Dealer...

DIAPHRAGM SET, PUMP OEM part # 16021-MEN-A01
Then put in a 50 Leak jet...
    You won't be disapointed

here are links to purchase both of these from CRF's Only (also a Honda OEM parts dealer www.yeltrik.com):

    #50 leak jet:

    Diaphragm Set:

photo doesn't show the cover but it's included as well.

Ok, i did purchase the Diaphragm Set, and the JD Leak jet kit from this site... i assume the JD kit includes a 50 leak jet?

I ordered the Boyesen Quickshot through my work... is there any gains to using this at all? or should i just return it?

yes, the JD Leakjet kit includes the #50. The Quickshot will help.

Hey Ken, this would be good to pass on to the Folks on this site. As I tried to search for the part # on the Yeltrik site, but there is no way to cross reference the part #'s. It would be a good idea to include a search function that would work on OEM part #'s.
    Thanks.

it's an excellent suggestion and one that we have on our 'must have' list with our vendor of that site.

any time you, or anyone, needs something and you can't find it let me know. i'll pass on a link, add it to our catalog or do what i can to help you get it. this goes for all powersports products not just Honda CRF products.

'07 and earlier can also benefit greatly from changing the accelerator pump detent spring, from MERGE RACING or TOKYO MODS.

It eliminates the need for a o-ring mod, and it is permanent and more linear.
