    08 crf250r main jet size

Chaps. I live in the uk. so elevation is between 0-1000ft. temp ranges from -10 to +25 in summer.

currently running a stock motor with a full Pro circuit ti4 system, no backfire screen and twinair filter.

    NMTT needle on 3rd clip
    178 main
45 pilot in winter and 42 in summer

im thinking of having the bike dyno'd but the shop doesnt carry the jets in stock so can anyone advise before i splash out on a range of jets.

the bike pulls fine all the way through the rev range im just curious thats all.

    Thanks Dave

Everything looks pretty good with what you have minus the main jet. Get a 172 and a 175 to take with you. Chances are, you'll use the 172. Stock, the 08 came with either a 188 or 190 depending on what part of the country or world you live in. Both are waaaaaay too rich. The 172 seems to really wake up the top end.

In the warmer months because of the port work done to my kids 08, we run a 38 pilot and a 168 main. The bike rips!

From all the posts I've read around the world, I've never seen anyone post about a 178 main. I could be wrong. Even if it did come with a 178 main, I think it's still too rich under normal conditions. Of course there are varibles that can prove me to be wrong.

It does, but not much. If you have any trouble between 1/4 and 3/4 throttle, you will want to move the clip down 1 notch. I don't think you're going to have an issue with it.

Doesnt moving the clip down make it richer? if anything i think the bike is rich?

Correct, moving the clip down will make it richer. Change the main out and see how it runs first. Then decide if it's rich or lean or fine.
