Does anyone know if a desert tank for a 08 crf 230 is available? my wifes bike seems to be a gas hog and we can't go on long rides. Thanks

You sure you don't have a leak or something?
I can ride my 230f all day Saturday (9am-8pm) and half the day on Sunday (1pm - 8pm) and still have gas left in the tank. I don't know the mileage, but I've seen posts where people are thinking these F-series bikes get 70+ mpg.

after I did that power up kit it eats gas like crazy. I'm sure if it was stock it would be better.

Ah... I just put the power-up kit in my 230 last night.
I'll have to keep my eye on the gas consumption...

It doesn't make a noticeable difference.
You don't have a float that is catching or crud in the needle and seat? Check the overflow hose isn't running fuel on to the ground.

Aussiecrf230, Evolktm has another post at:

Where he's asking about: I removed the air box plug and exhaust plug from my wife's 2008 crf 230 and installed the proper power up kit in the carb, but my wife is complaining about back-fires and the bike cutting-out at times......anyone have any suggestions? thanks
So my guess is the gas consumption and back-fires and cut-outs are related.
I'm just not sure what might be the problem...
