    2003 xr 80 jetting

    by jbowens » Wed Mar 10, 2010 8:11 pm

I just got my daughter a 2003 xr 80 for her birthday, and I'm having some issues with a hanging idle. I'm guessing it's a partially clogged pilot jet, and I will be taking the carb apart to clean it. While I have it apart, I would like to get the jetting correct. It's completely stock (I can remove the snorkel and any other restrictive parts you guys recommend). We ride at sea level and the average temp is around 70F. Please, let me know what free modifications I should do and what size pilot and main jet I need.

    Thanks,

    John

Here's a good thread with a lot of info that you can use.

I found that some of the part #'s in the thread are obsolete, so you might need to call a local dealer to find alternate part #'s.

Let us know what you find as I need to do some CRF80 jetting as well.

    I posted a thread at http://www.crfsonly.com/forum/viewtopic ... highlight=
that has had no replies. There doesn't seem to be as much activity in the 80/100 space as there are in other forums.
