    Adjusting AP screw?

    by mxersraz » Wed Mar 10, 2010 10:51 am

Does that screw (that holds the spring and the o-ring) need to be adjusted? and if so inwards or outwards? and when?

If that is a picture of yours, the easiest way to check if your AP screw is set correctly would be to do the following.
    1. Remove the o-ring
    2. hold the throttle at Wide-Open
    3. The screw should be adjusted up on the gap, so when you open the throttle all the way, the gap should not change.
    4. If the gap is correct, reinstall the o-ring. If the gap is not correct, adjust the screw accordingly, then reinstall the o-ring.

If you haven't done the AP mod, then you should definitely consult the service manual on adjustment of the AP screw.

I only have the owners but not the servise manual for my 450x.. It doesn't mention anything about adjusting that screw..
Can anyone tell me how to adjust it or send me a pdf servise manual? My bike is an 07 450x.

p.s. I've only done the o-ring mod on the AP to give it a better response although the 07 doesn't need it.

    Thanks!
