Jetting with big bore kit and cam swap

hey guys, I have an '05 CRF 250X; pro circuit T-4 exhaust, twin air filter with no backfire screen, opened air box, boysen quickshot, Hotcams stage 1, JD jet kit, red needle and largest main jet in kit. I ride around sea level and bike runs great.

I'm planning on installing the athena 280 big bore kit and swapping to a hotcams stage 2, as well as switching to kibblewhite valves. I would like to know how I should set up the carb.

I called JD Jetting; they told me my current carb setup should be close and, if anything, I should have to go leaner on the main jet. Does this sound right? This seems counter-intuitive to me. Shouldn't a bigger engine require more fuel, and therefore a richer main jet? They also said I might need to swap to a 42 pilot jet.

Does anyone have any advice? and has anyone had another bike with a similar mod list?

    Thx.
