moving the clip

what happens when you move the clip up and down. does it richen the fuel or lean it out? can't get the bike to run with chock off. put in new jets and set everything to the book.I get the chock about 90% off and it kills the motor.any way thanks for any reply's

When you move the clip down the needle raises up so you richen the fuel.
Try adjusting the idle or/and fuel screw and see what happens..
You also may have a cloged pilot jet.

Moving the clip up = more lean.
Moving clip down = more rich.
Did you replace the pilot (slow) jet???

thanks guys, yes we just replaced the pilot jet and the main.
what do you think would be better turning out the pilot screw or moving the clip?
