Just put motor back together. New head and valves, new hotcams stage 2 cam, crower valve springs, new cylinder, CP 13.5:1 piston. I am at sea level and outside temp was about 40F. I went for a break in ride. I did some light trail riding. After about 1hr of slow riding I started to pick up the pace and the bike ran great for another hour. I went back to the trailer to chill for a while. When I cranked the bike back up it started to pop out of the exhaust. It then would not idle. So I went home and pulled the valve cover and checked the timing and it is still dead on. There was also some deceleration backfires after 2 hrs of riding.
Here are the carb specs for that day:
pilot 45
main 175
starter 68
stock needle
3rd clip
Any suggestions? Today I removed the 45 pilot for a 42 and it did the same thing. I then removed the 175main for a 172main. It would Idle great and when I went to give it throttle it would die.
