hi there,
my 08 crf 250 r currently has the stock air filter (with the double skin).
I clean it after every ride so its now beginning to get a bit worn out and i am going to purchas a new air filter.
however the aftermarket air filters like 'twin air' etc are all alot thinner so i guess it will mean my bike will then suck more air in?

anyone got any idea of whether i need to change any of the jetting or fuel mixture???

You will need to assess that by checking your spark plug color and the way it runs afterward. Are you running stock jetting now? What elev./temp.? Have you removed the backfire screen? If not you may consider that along with a Twin Air Backfire Filter. If you are still using stock jetting you would benefit from trying some richer pilot jets.

Thanks for the reply Nick.
Well im in england so theres not really much elevation wherever I ride to be honest (95m elevation round here i think?)
No i havent removed a backfire screen?, and as far as i know the jets are stock. will they have something written on them so i can double check this??

the numbers are stamped in the end of the jets

but basically, if all you have changed is the air filter then you really don't need to change your jetting

You will charge to appraise that by blockage your atom bung blush and the way it runs afterward. Are you active banal jetting now? What elev./temp.? Have you removed the backlash screen? If not you may accede that forth with a Twin Air Backlash Filter. If you are still application banal jetting you would account from aggravating some richer pilot jets.

If that's a shot at my correct use of parts of speech, I never claimed to have a degree in Language Arts.
