    250X Jetting. First time

    by Jayce » Sun Jun 21, 2009 9:53 pm

    Okay I have a CRF250X.

    -MRD exhaust system
    -Twin Air Filter
    -Removed backfire screen
    -Works fuel screw

    Widely varying temperatures (35-100)
And elevation (sea level to around 5000 ft)

I have never jetted a bike before so this will be my first time. :-k

I know these are unspecific figures, but what do you guys think are are the best jetting specs for them? And ANY instruction on how to do it would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Thanks guys! :D

    OK,

    2 ways to do this.

    1) Buy the JD Jetting Kit and follow the instructions. you'll end up with:

Red needle 5th clip, 162 main jet, 42 pilot jet, fuel screw @ 2 turns, AP mod.

    2) Use Honda brass. You'll end up with:

NCYS needle 4th clip, 155 main jet, 42 pilot jet, fuel screw @ 2 turns, AP mod.

If your fancy fuel screw isn't made of brass, return it and order a brass T handle or R&D remote fuel screw. The anodized aluminum ones are crap.

Here's a step by step tutorial on jetting the bike.
