CRF 250X Need to be rejetted?

    by quaker74 » Wed May 06, 2009 11:42 pm

Alright so I'm new here and new to working on bikes in general but here it goes... I just got a 2004 CRF 250X. It has a FMF Q silencer on it, stock header and has the JD Jetting Kit. They guy had the jetting all set for this. The bike has not had the airbox cut open yet. I was looking into doing this and was wondering if I had to rejet the bike if I cut the airbox according to the CCC modifications. I've never rejetted a bike before and was looking to avoid this if I could. Any Help?
    Thanks

Rejetting is very easy. It's hard for us to say whether or not you'd need to without knowing what the exact set up you have now.

What else would be helpful to know for what jetting would be best?

Your elevation, the temperatures you plan on riding in.

The mods to your bike i.e. pipe, airbox, cam, etc.

The set up on your current jetting, which needle, clip position, main jet, pilot jet, fuel screw type and setting.
