    Jardine RT-4 Full TI exhaust

    by Styx450R » Fri Apr 18, 2008 3:40 pm

    Hello..

I recently sold my GSXR 1k and bought four dirt bikes for the family. I raced MX a few times when I was 15 and then stopped riding due to location. I enjoyed this as a kid and I am slowly getting back into track riding.

I was not looking for any upgrades but I came across a sweet deal on a jardine RT-4 full TI Exhaust. Now I am worried I have to rejet it. I have a new CRF450R. Everything is stock. I just ordered the pipe today.

What type of jet kit should I buy? Should I take it in to have it rejetted or is it easy enough to do myself. As a kid I remember just unscrewing a jet and tapping a bigger one in. Not sure if it is the same.

Any advice on this would be great. Thank you in advance!

I read through the forums and decided based on the majority of advice given to others, I went with the JD jetting kit.

    Welcome to the site!

Good call on the JD kit. It will call for a much larger main than you are running now due to the fact that the JD needle is leaner on top.

Let us know how it works out.

Thank you ~, it has been 15 years since the last time I took a dirt bike apart, and I am really uneasy about every move I make. I think it will just take some time to build my confidence back up as I become more knowledgable about this bike.

I spent a good portion of my night last night reading all your posts. This is a great site and I hope to pick your brain in the future.

I received my JD kit in the mail today. I installed the kit but I have some questions.

I used the red needle in the 6th clip position. I used the 180 main jet as indicated. I live in San Diego and ride near sea level. It varies from 75to 95 degrees.

I am just getting back on the track and I am not sure if I should still use the red needle or switch to the blue needle. If I use the blue needle what clip position should it be at? All the information above still applies.

    Thank you in advance!
