    2004 CRF250 Idle Issue

    by Troybigred79 » Sun Mar 16, 2008 9:49 am

Hello Everyone! My name is Troy and I'm new to the 4 stroke scene. I have an 04 crf250 and I cant get this damn thing to idle correctly! It starts with full choke and as soon as I take choke off it dies! starts right back up with full choke and also the header pipe becomes cherry red if I adjust idle screw to raise idle?
    I'm at sea level
    2/14 turns out
    40 pilot
    4th needle position
    162 main jet
    Any recommendations are welcome, Thanks
    Troy

Hey Troy Welcome to the site!!!

Your pilot jet is clogged. Remove it clean it and reinstall. All will be well.

Or better yet, go to the dealer, get a NEW 42 pilot (works better than the 40) and just replace it.
