    Air needle /pilot jet on a 08crf 150r

    by veteran » Thu Mar 13, 2008 10:30 am

I bought a 150r for wife/kids . I went up to a 45 pilot jet as advised on TT. All is fine, but heres the thing, if I pull the hot start lever while its idling and cold the revs pick up which tells me the pilot is too rich. Air screw is 2 turns out. Do I go leaner and risk bog again??

My 450R does the same but not to the same extent.

    Advice??

Thats normal. Pulling in the hotstart introduces more fuel to the system while keeping the air amount constant, therefore richening the mixture.

Really the hot start richens the mixture? You might want to recant while you have a chance.

    Hahahaha!

He's 100% correct except for the "increases fuel" "keeps the air constant" and "richens the mixture" part...
