welcome to the group! you may not get many, if any, responses that will be helpful as you are the first post i've seen with the dynojet kit. so, i'm not familiar with it. my apologies. most of use are using the JD Jetting kit.

i did want to reply and say welcome though.

    No one knows DynoJet ?

I have a similar inquery about my 04 250r. My FMF Jet kit (made by Dynojet) is year specific, and also pretty specific on saying to use a 144 main for 0-3000 ft.
The stock main is a 160.

The kit says "for mildly tuned machines using the stock airbox or aftermarket filter. Should be used with the FMF exhaust system"

I know you need more info on my settings...but I just have a general question.

Does that sound OK to drop down that drasticly on the main jet? I just read if there's more air going out, then more gas should be going in.

I have a FMF 4.1 system with a megabomb. AP wire mod, and Twin air powerflow kit.

There's no way in the world that I'd do that.
"for mildly tuned machines using the stock airbox or aftermarket filter. Should be used with the FMF exhaust system"

That's a generic piece of advice I wouldn't trust, and what in the world is restricted about a 250R's airbox ?
It sounds to me like they are clueless, or are referring to the 250X, and even there they are way,way too lean.
As Ken said most of us are very happy using JD jet kits, and it seems like everytime I read something these people (DynoJet)put out it's way off the wall.
Those bikes stock (250R's), with maybe a size or two changed here or there, run very well with stock or almost stock jetting, it's nothing like what we have to do to get the X's squared away.
What's your bike running like now, what are you trying to get done ? Doug

It started with getting a new exhaust... (doesnt it always?)
I havent rode it with a 144 yet. But I rode it with a 160 and the AP wire mod. and it was fast up until the steady 3/4 throttle mark, and thats where it would bog. However, It responded well when pinned. I just want it to run as best as it can. And I want to do it right. So I took it to my trusted mechanic, I didnt want to screw it up myself. And besides that, I havent had jettting looked at ever. I need to ask him more specs on it tomorrow. He rode it wit a 144 and gave the OK. Im second guessing him, but I hope hes right. But I noticed no one is using a 144. I thought Id find more people with my same bike/exhaust setup.

Since I cant hit the track, Im going to have to test ride in the street and and terrorize the neighbors a little this weekend.

Also, arent jet kits pretty much the same, Its like... just find the right size jet. How is JD better than Dynojet?

JD makes custom needles for it's kits, which is expensive.
and it was fast up until the steady 3/4 throttle mark, and thats where it would bog

That's why it would be a good thing to have a custom triple tapered needle for your bike, because that's a needle and main jet problem .
JD puts everything on a WinPeg 7 Dyno with exhaust gas temperature and content analysis. One of the really outstanding things is you can e-mail JD Jetting and you wil receive a quick and educated response.
The carb on your bike and the 05's is the known sure -fire fix for 06's and 07's that have a bogging problem, so you've got something amiss there.
If it was my bike I'd order the kit :
    http://www.crfsonly.com/catalog/product ... ts_id/1095? ,
    Then simultaneously e-mail JD jetting
www.jdjetting.com, go to where it says "e-mail James Dean" when you're ready to fire off your questions.
Tell him you've got the kit coming, what your bike is, what the exhaust is and what the symtoms are.The kit includes plenty of extra jets to cover most any eventuality.
You will then be posting how happy you are, like everyone else on here who has done business with JD.
The guy flat knows his stuff.
I'll tell you one thing, if you go to the start line at any local or major race you'll be very hard pressed to find one CRF250R rider running a 144 main jet. Doug
