Most go with the Twin Air I think. I have been using the twin air for a couple years and have no complaints.
No-Toil is a clean and easy way to clean and oil them.
Also, removing the backfire screen helps the bike breathe a little better.

If you remove the backfire screen, then go with a Twin Air Powerflo filter. It has a special fire retardant layer just in case you do have a backfire.Using No-Toil is not only easy, as suggested by BigD, but it is not flammable, which is a plus. You can clean your filters in the kitchen sink because it is completely bio-degradable, doesn't have noxious odors, and doesn't leave oily residue to piss anyone off.

If you don't remove the backfire screen, then you can stay with your stock filter. Personally I like the Twin Air because it has a slightly different profile than the stock one, and that makes putting it in or removing, just a little bit easier.

    +1

Note: get the Twin Air with flame resistant foam if you pull your backfire screen.

    Right here:

When you remove the stock filter, you will see the foam filter is mounted to a support cage. The cage consists of the metal backfire screen and a white plastic outer cage. Bend the little metal tabs holding the white cage to the backfire screen. Separate the two pieces. The white plastic cage will be reused with your new Twin Air.

    Yep,

The whole kit has a pretty gold anodized cage to replace the stock white plastic one. Once you get the filter on the cage and the assy installed and the little door closed, you can't see the pretty cage.

The white plastic stock one works just fine with the new replacement filter.

    And it's $ 35.00!!
