    Jetting Question

    by DocCRF-X250 » Fri Oct 12, 2007 4:51 pm

I am new to this site and have already learned alot about my 04' 250 -X. My question is I live in Ontario, Canada. From what I have read alot of people go with 162 jet and 42 jet and the red needle in the fifth position. Is buying the jet kit the best method or going to dealer and buying specific jets? I hear these bikes can get really dialed in so I would really like some advice --Calling ~ and/or Halen. Not sure what my exact elevation is. I have done the air box mod, took the baffle out. Going to set sag and suspension this week-end Thanks in advance

The JD kit is worth its weight in gold. Do it! You won't regret it.

Depending on where in Ontario you live, the elevation will be between about 500-1600 feet. I can be a lot more specific if you give us the town.

JD kit, it's the only way to go. Easy to do and great results. Listen to the Jetti Master JAWS :)

Buy the JD kit, install it per instructions, also consider replacing the float bowl screws per rick ramsey's recommendations, button everything up, and enjoy. You won't regret it.

    Elevation 70–110 m (230–360 ft)

I would recommend that you do the CCC mods, (i.e. Airbox, exhaust baffle, backfire screen, etc.)

If you go the way of the JD kit (it is the easiest ),
You should run the 42 pilot, JD red needle at 5th clip, and a 162 mainjet.

Should you switch to an aftermarket exhaust, you might go up a size on the main to a 165.

Do the AP mod while you are in the carb, use the larger O-ring supplied in the JD kit.

Change out your fuel screw to a CRF'sOnly adjustable "T" handle screw. Makes adjustments easy.
The fuel screw will be about 2 turns out from all in.
