    If you read my last post, I almost did something stupid. But then I realized, a 230F. I'm considering getting one, I'm checking around on prices right now. Does this site have a power-up jet kit for an 07 230F? Cuz' I've looked around on the pages and ain't found anything. Someone please give me the part number(s) for it.

    I'd like to know what I should replace, but also, what I can get by with adjusting stock. Oh and my elevation is around 300-1200 ft above sea level. I know it ain't very accurate, but I'm in a varying region. Now if you know if I should get another fuel screw, tell me and please tell me how many rounds out it, or stock, should be for my elevation, power-up jets, hi-flow air filter, opened airbox, and spark-arrester removed. Yes lots of questions, but I'd like to get it right within the first 10 times of trying! :)

    The Power Up Kit: (Honda Parts available from your local Honda dealer)
    Most owners want a little more spunk from the bike. An inexpensive and effective way to add power is do these modifications. This involves getting more airflow on the intake, re-jetting the carb and opening up the exhaust. These changes should be done together as a lean condition will occur and possible engine damage as a result.

    Honda recommends this as a starting point:
    16012-KPS-921 Needle (Includes Power up needle, Clip, and needle jet)
    99113-GHB-1320 Main jet (Where 132 is the jet size)
    99103-MT2-0450 Pilot jet (Where 45 is the pilot jet size)

    The needle clip in the 4th position counting down the rings from the blunt end of the needle. The fuel screw at 1.5 to 1.75 turns out.

    At the same time install a high flow Air filter like

    Next step is to remove the baffle from the end of the exhaust. This is the black insert held in by a torx screw on the side of the end cap. Another option if you can afford it a high flow exhaust that will help power as well. http://crfsonly.com/catalog/product_inf ... cts_id/529
    This is a safe starting point as the bike should run a little rich(more fuel) and keep the motor cool. Again this is a starting point and you may need to adjust/change to meet your needs.

    Fuel Screw:
    A handy item to install at anytime is this fuel Screw. This allows tool less fine adjustments to your jetting anytime anywhere. These adjustments are necessary with seasonal temperature changes.

    Thanks for the info. But is the new fuel screw neccessary, or can I use the old stock one?

    Not necessary. The stock one will work fine. It is just a PITA to adjust. The aftermarket one is adjustable while on the bike with one finger.

    if you keep the stock D shaped screw, you can always, excuse the pun, Redneck it, by notching the head with a hacksaw, just deep enough and wide enough to get a screw driver in and adjust it. be careful though, the brass needle is soft.

    Ok, I got my 230 on wednesday 8-7-07, and have already been looking over the carb, and seen that the CRF'S fuel screw would probably be a good idea :lol: . And I'm not sure about the jetting yet, never dealt with a piston-valve type. Besides, my dad won't let me modify it until the 6 month warranty is up. And does this carb have an accelerator pump on it? I figured it did but I'm not sure.

    oh yeah, does the twin-air filter come with a cage, or is it sold seperately somewhere else?

    hello?

    i need help please, i want to make this order soon, and will probably get...
    -BBR fork springs
    -CRF'S only fuel screw
    -Twin-Air filter

    i need to know if the filter has a cage, so i'll know if anything else needs to be purchased with it for it to work.

    The twin air doesn't come with a cage, unless you get the powerflow KIT for like $200.

    No,the TwinAir doesn't have a different cage nor does it need one.
