    crf450x supermotard info needed

    by abmjl » Fri Jul 20, 2007 10:12 pm

Hi this is my first post so bear with me. I have a crf450x 05 that im supermotarding for a track day on 27 july taupo Nz, altitude 360m. Will be riding at sea level as well in future. Heres my bike specs.
cbr250 rims rear 4" 150 tyre with cbr rotor, front 3" 110 tyre with 275mm dia rotor, standard crf calaper with race pads.

fmf 4.1 muffeler and will fit a 450r header pipe to give me a bit more top end snot.

Im using a 170 main jet & a standard pilot jet at mo, with x header fitted. Can't remember wot clip the needle is on. But it must be right cuz it boogies.
But with the r header i was going to use a 172 main for the trackday.

Airbox top & sides have been removed, & was going to remove the gause filter for trackday.

Will put a quart of oil in gearbox & an extra 60-80mls in crank case for those high speed corners.

Will run a 39 tooth sprocket on rear 13, 14 or 15 on front.

Will tighten up preload front & rear. Have been riding on dirt for while with triple clamps droped down 10mm & love it, so will leave it like that for trackday.

So if anybody has sum input or does & don'ts on the above novel [ sorry bout that ] that would be great.

    cheers jason.

you might try the 450x forum.
As for jetting i would run the 04 450r NCVS needle 3rd position and a 42 pilot (stock is 45) your main is fine at 170.

As for the Tard stuff look in the 450X forum. Insted of writeing everything out again just copy and paste it. A lot more people will see it and be able to help over there.
