I am in the process of a top end rebuild and want to get input from others who have been down this road about rejetting my stock 250x with honda parts. I am using the stock camshaft, the air box is opened up on top and the screen has been removed, also the exh baffle is removed. elev where we ride the most is 1000-3000' above sea level. The bike did have a noticeable bog when twisting the throttle quick, the accel pump oring mod should fix this right? Thanks for info

The JD kit is excellent for rejetting. It now contains the 42 pilot as well as the o-rings for the mod.

If you want to use Honda parts to get close, here is the set up:

Jet, Main (#152) 99101-357-1520

Needle Set, Jet 16204-MEN-671

Jet, Leak (#70) 99108-KRN-0700

Pilot (slow) Jet 99103-440-0420

Do the o-ring mod using the larger o-ring 3/16 thickness ID 1/4" OD 7/16".

This site is really helpful for a do it yourselfer like me, glad I found out about it before I started getting inside the carb. What would be the clip position and approx fuel screw setting, and that is a different leak jet than stock right? Does this leak jet provide more fuel delivery from the Ac pump? thx again

4th clip.

About 2 turns out.

Slightly less than stock due to the different taper of the new needle.

hey thanks again, I will be getting those jets and am waiting for some other parts, hopefully will be riding again before long. My riding buddy who is my 12 year old son broke his wrist playing basketball(of all things) a few days ago so he wont be ready for a few weeks either. :?

Basketball is a dangerous sport...better stick to more safe endeavours like dirtbikes.

Wanted to follow up now that I got the bike running again and have some time on it. I did the AP oring mod and installed all the honda jets that were recommended, but I did make a change after the first ride. I removed the #70 leak jet and put the #55 leak jet back in and I like the #55 better, with the #70 it seemed alittle weak or slow to rev-nothing major but it was noticed. The bigger fuel shot does seem to make it rev a touch quicker or better off the bottom. But its running good and I appreciate the helpful advice. Thx
