Just added a Dr D full exhaust to my X. I had already opened the airbox and rejetted with JD kit according to instructions. I had a small hesitation prior to the new exhaust if I opened the throttle quickly but it was livable. Now that problem is more pronounced and it doesn't want to start if I open the throttle AT ALL. It runs strong, but the starting thing is annoying. I'm sure there's a jetting solution, but where do I start? Right now it's set up exactly as the JD kit suggested.

Did you bump up the pilot jet to a 42??
Open fuel screw to 2 turns out?
Do the o-ring mod on the accelerator pump?
What are the current jetting sttings?

The only changes I made to the jetting (from stock) was the main jet (165) & put the red needle with the clip at the 5th position. I guess I don't know what the 'O' ring mod is, unless it was something with the JD kit... I've fooled around with the (CRF's only) air mixture screw, which doesn't seem to do much good. I raced today at 2 1/2(ish).. It runs strong, but if I 'whack' the throttle quickly it bogs.

In the JD kit, were there two o-rings, one thick and one thin?
They are used to modify the accelerator pump timing arms so there is no lag time (bog) between the twist of the throttle and the rpm increase.
PM me your e-mail and I'll send you the whole AP mod on PDF.
