In my humble opinion just removing the baffle does not allow enough air flow to really make the difference you are looking for. I cut the airbox but left the outer 'rails' intact so if I ever want to replace the baffle I can just glue it back in. It is quite amazing the difference that the X and the R have concerning the airbox. The X is almost closed in comparison. And it seems, all us Xer's, are just trying to get the power handed out by the R.
I was hesitant at first to do all these carb mods but after some fine convincing they all worked out great!
hope this helps... later

What comes in the JD jet kit?

The CRF 250X kit contains the Small o-ring, Large O-ring, Red Tipped Needle, Blue Tipped Needle, 150, 155, 158, and 162 Keihin Main Jets.
You can listen to the dealer if you want to, but they are the ones who sold you a lean bike to begin with.
It doesn't matter to us what you run. Our bikes won't run any differently if you run stock jetting. We know what works and what doesn't.
Stick with your stock jetting and have fun...or listen to us and get your bike running the way it should.
