450x jetting mystery still unsolved

    i've seen similar symptoms with worn floating valve plates. check these as well.

    well the floating valve plate and seal are new just replaced them a few weeks ago , the needle looked fine but maybe il try put the stock honda one back in to see the difference ,when i had the carb out yesterday i blew out and cleaned every possible orifice so cant be blocked anywhere

    did you originally have an accelerator pump diaphragm that started to deteriorate?

    ive replaced that too the old one looked ok but still put in a new one and when i had the carb out i checked that and it makes a good squirt too so cant be that

    any chance you don't actually have the JD Kit for your CRF model?

    nah it has to be right cos when i first put it in years ago it went like a rocket and was 100% perfect, the bike is getting old now but iv replaced about every part possible

    I just solved a problem like this! Thought it was carburetion but it was my "stick coil" for $54 it's worth a shot.

    Ok well I found the solution to that problem the needle although it looked fine must of been slightly worn cos I put the old stock needle back in n instantly it was running better n the splutter is gone , so now I've bit the bullet n bought a brand new jd kit with new red needle n jets n I've set it up like it says n all seems good so il see how it goes thanks for everyone's help , I think I'm learning now not to be a tight arse and to just replace parts when they start to wear lol

    Hey contact JD and let them know what happened and they will help you out...

    I had a friend that had a problem with his Red Needle and they replaced it free of charge.
