bog is from when starting from dead stop or giving gas at slow speeds. get it when I whack the throttle or just slowly give it gas. it's the worst on hill climbs. tried 1st and 2nd gear, but both seem to bog. haven't noticed it at higher speeds.
as far as the o-ring goes, I'm definitely not looking for more punch out of the bike. would like to avoid this if possible. maybe I'll try it and see if it changes but hoping not to have to leave it that way.
    thanks

The o-ring will not give you more punch, except that it may not bog. The original Red Beard mod was to wire the two pump arms together. The thicker o-ring is JD's answer to that so it can be done a little more easily. The thin o-ring will stretch more allowing more lag time between operating the arm. The thicker o-ring allows less lag and a more instantaneous shot, which should help eliminate the bog.

ok I will put the thick o-ring on. JD's instructions make it sound like you get more power as he says: "the thick o-ring will give a significant increase in pressure for more of a burst or snap in power."
this doesn't mean more hp, just a quicker throttle response because of the increase in pressure?

I went with the thin o-ring because he suggests it for trail riding. thin o-ring will add 40% to pump speed, thick will add 80%.
    thanks

Yes, snap just means response, but if that still allows bog, then you aren't getting what he suggests. Give the thick a try an report back. If you still have the bog, then I suggest that you call JD and get his input. He is excellent at returning phone calls.

will report back after riding w/thick o-ring next week.
good to know JD is so responsive and stands behind his product.

put on thick o-ring, bog is better. got a little on a hill, but think I might have been a gear to high. anyway, the throttle is definitely more responsive.
I noticed the plug was fouled: black. will replace it. I back the fuel screw off from 2 to 1 3/4. should this help?
    thanks.
